This is an original Bird Lounge Chair, Model 423LU, initially designed by Harry Bertoia for Knoll in 1952. This example was produced in the USA in the 1960s. The design features a body that is formed from interlocking steel wire, and this particular Bird is coated in black Rislan, a rubber-like coating.
The chair measures 33 inches deep, 38.5 inches wide, and is 40.25 inches high. It has a seat height of 14.5 inches. The black Rislan coating on this piece has worn away a bit and you can see the steel peeking through. There are no broken welds, and the chair is structurally sound. Overall, the chair is in good condition. Please see photos.
