The Men's Alpine Pants from Black Diamond are a technical softshell pant designed for climbers and alpinists who need stretch mobility and reliable weather resistance on routes where a full hardshell pant would add unnecessary bulk. The 88% nylon / 12% elastane face (180 g/m²) finishes at 400 grams and carries a DWR finish for light precipitation protection. Reinforced ripstop across the waist and front pockets handles abrasion on granite slabs and rock edges without adding weight, and a hem-cord ankle adjustment seals over approach shoes or mountaineering boots. An integrated adjustable belt with low-profile belt loops eliminates the need for a separate piece on technical pitches.
